Proficiency Factory Waste Management for a Healthier Planet!

In an era when people increasingly prioritize environmental conservation and sustainability, PlanToys has consistently been aware of the importance of internal waste management. This is to minimize environmental impact and efficiently utilize resources. Safety and occupational health officers at PlanToys take the lead in executing these operations.

Today, we're sharing insights from safety professionals Ms.Narumon Srithep and Ms.Sarinya Supden, who manage safety, health, and environmental (SHE) aspects at PlanToys factory, on managing waste internally.

Enhancing waste management efficiency with 3R.

Implementing the principles of Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle (3R) in waste management at PlanToys' factory contributes to reducing natural resource consumption and direct greenhouse gas emissions. This involves reducing waste volume, reusing materials, and recycling. Waste management also helps reduce environmental pollution, such as water, soil, and air, benefiting human health and the surrounding ecosystem outside the factory walls.

Waste management for safety.

PlanToys categorizes waste into two main parts: general waste from food processing and production processes that must comply with regulations, such as hazardous waste from medical rooms or unused materials. Proper storage and disposal methods are implemented accordingly.

Technology aids in data recording for waste disposal.

When facing challenges or obstacles in waste management, the team has developed targeted solutions using technology to track and record waste disposal data. Employees are required to scan QR codes to identify waste information before disposal, enabling efficient problem-solving and prevention for the future.

Utilizing alternative materials and new methods.

Moreover, PlanToys has applied technology and innovation to reduce waste volume in production processes, including using alternative materials and introducing new waste management methods for greater efficiency. For example, experimenting with a PU Water based to reduce the volume of PU foam scraps that need disposal, as well as using reusable plastic covers for items to reduce the volume of stretch film waste and eliminating plastic bags in baskets by directly placing items into the baskets, reducing plastic waste volume.

Training and promoting waste management awareness within the organization.

PlanToys regularly conducts training and provides employees with knowledge on waste management. Statistics are provided to management to monitor waste management outcomes, and plans are developed to reduce waste volume when excessive waste is generated. This is crucial for fostering awareness and responsibility for efficient waste management within the organization.
